August week one {pole barn}

Saturday, August 2…

A pole barn requires poles in the ground.  ;-)

On Monday, Kayleb {Tim’s nephew} arrived to help with construction.

Unfortunately, the lift was needed elsewhere on Tuesday.  It was about 5:30pm before they set the first truss.

And quite DARK before they finished their work for the day.

Wednesday it rained, so no one used the Gehl much.

Back at it early on Thursday…

Tim taught the Cattleman how to drive the Gehl – Looks dangerous, don’t you think?

Tim remembered how fond he is {not} of heights.  Kayleb {is young and fearless} however seemed to be enjoying himself.

Abby did help some with construction.  But she also made regular use of her camera from the ground or ladder – Paparazzi style  ;-)  The newly-engaged Kayleb was a favorite subject for her photos of course. {more about the newly-engaged part later}

Kayleb had to leave at noon {something about a dinner date with Kara?!}  But Tim’s friend Dave came to help put on the other side of the roof in the afternoon.

Monday, August 11 {when we were originally scheduled to depart for the East}

Tim wanted some of the west wall sheeted so that the structure would be more stable if the winds blew.  The wind did pick up that day, so they didn’t get farther than the first couple sheets.

… to be continued/finished?…

Monday, September 1, 2014

August did happen.

And, no, I didn't fall off the face of the earth.  Just b>u>s>y> in the exponential realm.

Meanwhile, welcome to September!  whew.  I have been baking all day {when I wasn't stalking facebook in hopes of a message from my dentist}.  Tim & the Cattleman have been working on the shed's third wall. {Yes, much to catch up on here!}  The Cowgirl & the Popper have been busy with their own projects and enjoying the last day of the official summer break.

Tomorrow Tim will be back at work and I will start the day in the dentist's chair to repair my broken tooth/missing crown? while the three at home find their way into a new school day routine.  Kate & Abby will have their first day of classes as well at BCM.  Daniel should be on Day Nine of his fall semester at Ambassador.

Here are just a more than a few pics to get you wondering about our August of 2014...
