daybook 3/25/2013

DSC06549

Outside my window...

the sun is setting; there are still patches of snow; the cattle are munching their hay; I think I see the Cowgirl’s raspberry jacket out amongst the cows ~ the Popper and Luci are with her.

Hearing...

the dehumidifier, the furnace fan, keyboards clicking.

Pondering...

Plan B for supper.  I should set the table.

Praying...

for wisdom; for Kate; for the choir and visitors to come to the cantata on Sunday.

Thankful...

for memories stored in so many boxes {soon to be more organized in books}

for the Cattleman & the Popper – thinking of their births just 11 and 13 fast-flying years ago this week.

Creating...

photo books at shutterfly {thankful for promo codes combined with books Abby & I made ready to order before the deadline!} – two ordered, one to go.

Going...

to begin our personal tax return prep… tomorrow.  Only because I must.

Reading...

The Suncatchers – sort of an odd book so far.  Well, Perry is odd, and Eldeen is a hoot.

Learning...

to be grateful for the little things.

Looking forward to...

having Kate home for Easter & Spring Break!

In the kitchen...

Van de Kamp’s fish tenders are hot; tartar sauce is made.  I need to fry up some turkey/cheese quesadillas for my kids not-so-fond-of-fish.

Tomorrow – chicken enchiladas

Wednesday – cheeseburger soup

Thursday – chicken/turkey packets

Friday – pancakes?

Saturday – calzones, spinach/artichoke dip

Sunday – turkey and much more

In the learning rooms...

the kids are producing much for me to grade {growing pile}. This morning we read about the ‘War of the Three Henrys’ from the late 1500s.

Around the house...

boxes of ‘treasures’ and photos and stuff

The Mother Load...

catch up with school papers(!)

tax prep {six down, seven to go}

ironing Smile with tongue out

scrap book binders in lieu of baby books {the silver lining is most are old enough and willing to help!}

Noticing that...

daffodils are starting to come up at the piano teacher’s house

Something to remember for later...

Do not buy a 3-pack of ink cartridges for a printer in its last days of useful life.

{Anyone else use HP #56?}

Something fun to share...

See previous post for the latest photo books  :)

A favorite quote for today...

“Society was cut in two: those who had nothing united in common envy; those who had anything united in common terror.”
Alexis de Tocqueville, Recollections on the French Revolution

One of my favorite things...

{looking forward to our forsythia bush blooming… soon?}

A Bible verse...

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  James 3:17

These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.  John 20:31

A few plans for the rest of the day/week...

Wednesday & Thursday are birthdays; Kate comes home Friday, so we will celebrate Saturday.  And again on Sunday!

The Lord is risen!

A peek into my world...

Even good things have to end sometimes – and it was time for the Christmas tree to leave the house.  {Jan 11 – that was a long house stay!}
