The weather:::
The toolbar says 21F ~feels like 5F  (which is -6C or -15C) ~ Yes, there is a stout Iowa breeze blowing again today along with sunshine.  Still no snow  :-\


On my reading pile::: 
I read To Have and to Hold by Mary Johnston this weekend (as republished by Vision Forum), which is why I was awake until 1am this morning!  :o
I started Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis just before Christmas and will get back to that next.  If I don't get sidetracked by the few library books I picked up last week  ;-)


On my TV:::
Nothing yet today.  In the past week, the new Pendragon dvd has been viewed about four or five times by various children here ~ Last night Tim & I watched too (while I read my book at the same time).  Also yesterday we were pleased to see the Packers win over the Detroit Lions (boo) ~ it was quite a game, but ended well for our second string quarterback and crew!  :D  And entirely too much of the Three Stooges while we avoided the commercials.  The girls and I enjoyed part one of Emma on IPTV yesterday afternoon too, although I must say I despise most of the scenes involving Mr. Elton  :p
Tim is just up from a short nap, so college football is now in view... Tonight we will be rooting for the Badgers in the Rose Bowl, of course!

Looking around the house:::
The last of the Christmas gifts were opened this morning.  The tree still blocks half of the TV screen from where I'm sitting now.
The kitchen is cleaned up after Tim's large Breakfast Feast (which we finished just a couple hours ago) ~ He did dishes after cooking waffles, sausages, breakfast pizza, and biscuits & gravy.


From the camera:::
This computer's hard drive has been having issues lately.  At the moment, the computer is obeying, so I am waiting to upload the bzillion pictures accumulating on my camera.  When I get there (if the computer doesn't crash first), there will be many to share!

The Gibbous Moon Passes Jupiter Tonight!

On the second day of 2012, there will be a conjunction of  the waxing gibbous Moon and Jupiter.  On the evening of Monday, January 2, the day after First Quarter, look at the Moon in the hours after sunset as it passes within five degrees to the north of the bright planet Jupiter.  For those who have never identified Jupiter before, yes, that really is the big planet!  So tell all your family and friends!  Lunar conjunctions with Jupiter are always beautiful sights each month, and the Moon will draw even closer to this bright planet in the following months throughout 2012.
